Issey Miyake SS15- Paris Fashion Week

"Clouds"on the runway

Issey Miyake is a Japanese fashion designer. He is well-known for his technology-driven clothing designs, exhibitions and fragrances. The designer used a new concept for this collection: 3-D Steam Stretch. This is a technology that uses steam to programme creases into the fabric to create super textured, but not knitted, not pleated material, as light as the air. The clothes were paired with almost Edwardian hats.

"The collection was based on clouds"- Eugene Souleiman

Makeup:
Alex Box and the MAC Pro Team
As the make-up was done by the MAC Pro Team for this collection, let's see what were the SS15 Trends on the runways:

MAC Spring/Summer 2015 Trends:

Re:view- All about the eyes, in particular the liner and mascara. Graphic, geometric, unusual liners and clumpy, chunky lashes. Black is not the only colour for lashes; browns and teals are also used. 70s influence.

Free Party- Colourful, carefree festival style. Bohemian beauty that looks effortless. Washed out, saturated colours that are bleached by the Sun. Freckles have also made a huge comeback.

"No Makeup"- Super hydrated skin, concealer and illuminator, use of natural stains, bare neutrals and soft highlights. Drawn on freckles and a touch of bronzer for sun kissed loom. Really clever placement of the products

EnlightenedLess coverage but more clever concealing. No contouring but more strobing. The skin has an almost holographic texture and lots of highlight is being used. This look has an ethereal radiance and gloss is a major element of the makeup. Skin, eyes, lips all have added gloss. White is also used and mixed with the base for the skin, and also used for the lashes.
The make-up for Issey Miyake's SS15 collection was definitely 'Enlighted'. This look is still a huge trend. We can clearly see the luminous, radiant, fresh complexion on the runway. The skin has a nearly wet finish due to the very well moisturised skin and the generous amount of highlighters and illuminators used.

Alex Box described this make-up look as: "A beautiful blue. Cold makeup where it's all about the lashes and the coldness of the skin... It's hopeful and fresh."

MAC Strobe cream was applied all over the centre of the face to add an iridescence. It created an overall luminosity over the forehead, the bridge of the nose, cheekbones and chin.

Alex used a mixture of green and ivory concealer on the lashes, using a MAC Pro concealer palette.
On the below picture we can also see drawn-on freckles which is also a huge trend at the moment.
Eyebrows were left very natural, and lip balm was used on the lips to create a soft texture.

    Hair:
Eugene Souleiman- Wella Professionals Global Creative Director, Care & Styling

The hair was styled by the Wella Professional team, lead by Eugene Souleiman. Eugene and his team created a quite strong hair-style for the show. This hair-style complimented the light, bubbly, airy clothes very well in my opinion. He wanted to create a hair style that is light and sculpted at the same time.
He sprayed hairspray to the roots of the hair and slicked back the top. He sprayed the hairspray very closely to the roots to create an almost gel-looking hair. He also left a few floating strings of hair at the front of the face. He than used a hairband to secure the top of the hair down, to be able to create the sort of 'fluffy' looking bottom section of the hair. It looks almost like a very light cushion, just like a cloud. To create this look, Eugene lightly backcombed the hair. He than put it into a very low pony tail and turned the end of the pony tail underneath and pinned any loose hairs.
