Make-up & hair duo Pat McGrath and Guido Palau creates fairy tale magic at PFW- Alexander McQueen AW14

Make-Up by Pat McGrath for the Alexander McQueen AW14 campaign- Paris Fashion week

It's safe to say that Pat McGrath knows a thing or two about extreme beauty.
Pat's creative, unique works have made her one of the most influential make-up artist in the world. For this catwalk she created a magical, fairy tale-like, enchanted look which has beautifully complemented Alexander McQueen's fury-feathry pieces in the AW14 collection.
Pat used copper-colored metallic shadows around the eyes and exaggerated eyebrows with black feathers. She also used the same metallic colour in the middle of the lips.

"There is always a theatrical element to a McQueen show, but this season it was taken to a whole new level in terms of drama and thematic elements. It was a collaborative effort - it took hours of preparation per day, coming up with new exciting ideas and several test days leading up to the show. I painstakingly created black feather lashes, which consisted of 65 pieces per eye. Preparing the lashes proved to be the most difficult, because we pre-cut feathers and then, by using tweezers, applied each feather to achieve the perfect application. Ultimately there were 130 feathered pieces per face, which took about two hours to do." - Pat McGrath

I love the fact that Pat always comes up with something unexpected and unique. I like that she doesn't always follow the current season's trends. And probably this is one of the reasons she is called one of the most influential make-up artists in the world.

Guido Palau hair genius created cornrows in a spiral on the models' heads and left two long strands to frame their faces.

I loved this look and the whole show. I think the models looked like little fairy-tale magic creatures or like little elves which complimented the make-up look, the theme and the whole collection beautifully.
